Labour Day Function May 2, 2014








The Labour Day Programme organised by Bharathi Association at The Indian Club celebrated on 2nd of May 2014 was a grand success. Thousands of workers all around the island took part in the celebration. H.E.Dr.Mohan Kumar, the Ambassador of India was the chief guest of the evening. H.E.Sheik Hamed Mohamed AlKhalifa, General Director of Urban Planning, Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning was the Guest of Honour.

The workers were treated with due respect and the starting of the programme itself was inaugurated with the Lighting of the traditional lamp by the workers alongwith the dignitaries.

Hundreds of valuable gifts such as 32" LED TV, Mobile Phones, Electronic Items and Houseware items, and spot prizes were presented to the Labourers. A Cake Cutting ceremony was held for those workers who were born in this month of May. 

Dinner Pack and refreshment were distributed to all the workers.

They were treated with Live musical & dance entertainment which included Traditional Classical Dances, Fire dance, Cinematic Dance etc., 

The scintillating performance was given by the Cine artistes and playback singers from Chennai, Durai Rajan, Divya Sree, Shilpa, Shivani and Mahesh supported by live band Music City orchestra. 

More than 2,000 laboureres attended the function which was open to all with free entry.
